Bradenton or Tampa anyone?

-
I've been down Lakeland a few times.

Been to Bradenton once or twice but not raced, also Bithlo near Orlando.

I plan to be down in Bradenton for their IHRA Nitro Jam/ProAm event later this year and go to Lakeland and Orlando for local Stock/Super Stock association races a few times a year.

From what I recall, Lakeland is an eighth mile track. No one could get any traction, because dirt was blowing all over from the mud bog track next to it. May have changed. I prefer quarter mile tracks. Bradenton was good.

Yep 1/8 mile in Lakeland.

Still a mud bog next door (that does a hell of a lot more business than the dragstrip).

Never had traction issues due to slung mud, though.

Local chevy dealer bought the property a couple years ago, and I haven't been there since that happened.

Rumor had it that he was gonna dump some cash into it.

Ozzy (who owns Orlando) now owns Lakeland and South Georgia Motorsports Park.

They have put a lot of time into making Lakeland a fun little track. Once the car is together I'll be back out there since Showtime (old Sunshine) pretty much sucks now.

Bradenton is still as good as it always does, but they only run their bracket program 1/8, which I prefer.

I had heard it was the stingray chevrolet guy that bought Lakeland.
