I believe I have all the components required to do a SBP disc brake conversion on my 66 Valiant. I need a little help before I get going on this. As per the pic, is this the proper way to hook up the proportional valve? Do I need a metering valve? I have power brakes with the single reservoir that I am changing to the dual reservoir set up. Do I need to change the push rod? The proportional valve is old/used, would there be a problem using it?

I think you are going to find that is NOT a proportioning valve. It appears to be nothing more than a "brake warning switch" designed to trigger the dash indicator if the pressure between the rear/ front of the system becomes much different. If so, it has a fairly simple shuttle piston in there that must be centered to shut off the switch.

Download the '72 shop manual posted by AbodyJoe and read starting page 5-16 (That's page 5 DASH 16, not pages 5 through 16)

Some interesting info from year one:

You can't use both together. Install the new one; buy the tools, and bend new lines. And carefully read the instructions, it seems the aftermarket doesn't want silicon fluid.

Thanks for the great info. Looks like I'm not quit as ready as I thought. I have some more reading to do.
