Hey Guys
I"m curious if we have to pay duty on to bring used parts into canada?
thanks

No. If you declare the parts, you will only pay PST & GST on the CDN value of the parts.

You pay a tax on the value on the bill of sale of the used part. The key is,making a bill for a small amount,if the distributor cost 40$ you make a bill for 10$,as its your word against theres. You also have a alotted amount for the time you spend in the states. You admit you bought items if you where their for a day or 12hours,and have spent 75$ or less in the items bought,if they say any thing, you have the low ball bills to prove it.And if you have a freind in the states,he/she can have there address on the bill to prove they bought it from them. When you get good, you can buy a car in the states and bring it across the same day and only pay 37$ in tax for a 67 dart, mrmopartech

Sometimes I get guys at the border who just wave me through after seeing the bill.Sometimes I get a guy who will tax me on the shipping plus the part.

Depends on what kind of day thier having I guess.

try bring coffee and doughnuts or maybe a nice sub-way lunch.after awile they'llbe looking for the food and not the parts:toothy7:

I just shipped a '71 Demon grille from SoCal to BC Canada. I insured it for a declared value of $270 and the buyer told me that it cost him another $96 to actually get it to his house. He was a little surprised at that bill, but it was a primo undamaged part, so he said it was worth it.

You probably shipped it via UPS.... they charge outrageous brokerage fees to get it across the border. Sending it via USPS only results in a $5 brokerage fee and then 13% on the value of the item ($35) so $40 vs $96. I always ask sellers Stateside to ship via USPS because of their lower, fixed brokerage fee.
