Other than an EZ out, any ideas how a broken flex plate bolt can be removed from a crankshaft hub without engine disassembly? The bolt broke off right at the base of the bolt head............don't ask. Thanks.

Those bolts are a decent diameter, can you weld a lever of some sort on the remaining bolt? Also, there ought to be a small amount still sticking out, can you cut a slot in the stub and use an impact driver on it? Beyond that, a careful application of heat might help, but be very careful.

Left handed drill bits. I bought a set yrs. ago for $30 at NAPA and man are they handy. Since the crank hub is drilled all the way through it should back out super easy. 9 out of 10 times the bit will catch the bolt and back it right out.

Unless it is cross threaded it should back out easy. I have in the past used a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel and cut a slot in the broken bolt and simply used a flat head screw driver to back it out.

use a nut one size smaller than the bolt diameter and weld it to the broken bolt thru the center of the nut. with a good center weld to the broken bolt you should be able to use a wrench and screw it right out.
