So i havent done mopar buckets in a mopar a body before, when switching to buckets in a bench car do the buckets still mount to the little "ramp" for the bench seat, or do they mount off to the side of it in holes that i dont currently have?

Never mind....found an old thread on it that perfectly answered the question. in case anyone else has the same issue or question though....

I did this in my 66 Valiant sedan, the tracks on the 66 barracuda was definitely narrower and all four holes had to be drilled, I reinforced the bottom with very large washers and tightly installed the bolts

Your going to be pulling up some dyna mat.

Red squares are bucket and reinforcement plates

Red circles are bucket outer holes

Yellow arrows point to bench holes that get body plugs.

Photo is pass side. Left is front

I installed 66 Barracuda buckets in my 65 Dart wagon and used the stock factory outer mounting holes. I drilled the inner holes then added factory reinforcement plates. With the added distance between the seats, I was able to install a B body console with a factory armrest

I have a set of factory reinforcement plates if you think you need them ! They would need to be tack welded in place .

! They would need to be tack welded in place . They install on the under side of the floorpan.
IDK about later vehicles but every bucket seat 65 Dart, Valiant and 65/66 Barracuda I’ve ever parted out had them tack welded on top. I agree they would be better suited underneath

I think your right on that !!! They were on top !

Just don't use the bench seat hole. There are dimples where the bucket tracks go, but unfortunately the insulation is covering the dimples. Maybe you can feel the dimples thru the insulation, I'm actually away right now, but I think the dimps start about 2" in from the bench seat hole. I did this on a 74 Duster and it worked out well for me, but my floor wasn't covered.

ive got verry little original floorpan left. mine were completely rotted out so 90% of my floors are just flat sheetmetal cuz the AMD one piece pan i actually needed was and has been out of stock/backorder/no return date since i bought the car Lol. but now that i know roughly where they go i can just set the seat in there where i think it needs to be to give me the legroom i want.

what year is your car? is it the one in your profile pic? AMD has the whole floor and also the left and right half floors. All three of those options have the bucket seat reinforcements already welded on

Here are the holes on a 1971 Demon With AMD floor pan. There are brackets under the floor that the outer track studs pass through for support. Under car pic is a file photo showing the brackets under the floor. (LOL....Probably found it on FABO)

BTW....Buckets use the inner holes on the brackets, bench uses the outer.

the 67 up are on top too. There are cross members underneath in places so maybe that's why they are on top? or just easier for the factory to install after the fact. ( since all the bench seat holes are punched and the bucket seat holes are not in a bench seat car they were probably added as needed)

Ha! that is an old pic and i had to double take. That is my 72.... glad it served as a reference and was of some help

on a bench seat car, there will be little dimples where to drill.

These are the measurements on the rear holes on the pass side

The hole centers seem to be between

3 1/8 and 3 1/4 from bench to bucket
