Anyone else watch the demo derby @ Daytona last nite,...No joy for the Dodge boys ,...I'm thinking Jeffies cage man should get a raise,....takin a ride on his drivers side, backwards, at well over 100 mph,...for 800 feet before rolling three or four times,...what a ride,(shorts check),..... and I really really really dislike Kyle, ....:happy1:but the boy has got skills

Kyle didn't have so much skill as he did luck to be left at the end.

Maybe,...but you don't see too many guys get bumped sideways,...twice,...at Daytona,...and save It,....(luck saved him on the second bige one to be sure),...and then set up the pass to win,...like I said, not a fan

yes, it was a classic move at the end. It should be an interesting 500....back the scrap haulers up now...theres going to be a lot of dead sheetmetal.

Well, according to the announcers, that's what the fans wanted. Pack racing, and a lot of contact.

true....I think they should have left the full spoiler in the rear so they kept a bit more downforce. Its great to see the bumping...but when the car can't stick...its off spinning. I'd rather see them stick, so they can push back.

dont know who nascar polls for these "results" but too much contact, pack racing, single file train racing of 10 years ago is what fans hated and caused nascar to create the cot and other changes to get away from this style....now suddenly we are full circle.

just my opinion but hated it then and hated it last nite....enjoyed last years daytona...more racing

If the fans want a crash fest they need to check out the local demo derby.I was surprised at how few cars were left for the last few laps. It will be a interesting 500 for sure.

enjoyed last years daytona...more racing[/QUOTE]

Same here,...I love the strategies of drafting and all that but pack racing is kinda boring and obviously dangerous,...and I don't think fuel injection is the answer,...makes em all way too much alike which results in closer pack racing,....give em more downforce and let em run...

and drivers can communicate to each other anymore....WTF.....how do they know what there drafting partners strategy is???

The problem here is the super speedway tracks(Paytona and Talle). Remember back before they had restrictor plates? Talk about boring. It was pretty much follow the leader after a few laps, kind of like it is at every 1.5 mile track on the circuit today. The COT was designed for safety but had ill effects in other areas. NASCAR will figure this issue out. I like the idea of not being able to bump draft as much and the two car tango last year was a snoozer.:sleepy2: Other the the great win for the Wood Bros and Trevor.

give em a set of rules...no restrictor plates (beef up the fences)..and let em race.

I think they will figure out when to take their foot off the gas (they still run on that, right?)

now THAT is racin'
...if I wanted a "show"...I would watch the REPO dudes....just sayn'

I agree. I sat in the stands at Daytona for a number of years while the drivers played follow the leader. Hated it. I came to see a race, not a Demolition derby and not a parade.

I didn't, and still don't like the COT. We now have the equivalent of Spec racing with "stock" (yeah right) bodies.

NASCAR seems to be doing all it can to go main stream, and in doing so is moving further and further away from the sport that gave NASCAR it's name, and it's appeal to race fans.

btw, I've been in the suits at Daytona and Atlanta, the front stretch and the back stretch, and it seems to me that the real race fans are in the back stretch. lol

I've enjoyed my self so much more with the people in the back stretch seating than anywhere else at both tracks.

The infield is a party zone, and my ADD doesn't allow me to pay attention to the race with the number of "underdressed" ladies around. lol

and Kyle Bush???
now there is a racer....reminds me of #3.....definately not a made for TV pretty boy, but that guy knows when to "gas it"

speaking of #3....11 years ago yesterday...RIP

Now were talkin...

Kyle Busch is a wheel man 100%. That guy does some sick nonsense in that car at 200. We can rag on him all we want about this and that and wrecking Hornaday was BS but hes the real deal. Waaayyyy better than Dale Jr. Go ahead hit me now for the Jr comment.

No Earnhardt fans in this camp,...your cool,...I was a HUGE Petty fan,...till they went to Ferds (again)......Now I'm just a MoPar fan,....Too bad I just despise Kyle,...and he drives a "yota",...yet another point against him,....but like I said earlier,...the boy has skills, that fer sure....

I second this!!!! I took my handicapped son to see the Shootout last night and we sat in the Infield seats just to the right of the Start/Finish line..
1. Way too many drunks
2. Way too many drunken fat *** women lifting their tops..distusting!!
3. WAY TOO MANY JUNIOR FANS!!!!
4. Gov Rick Scott was there....no one clapped for him...hurray!!!!

well, I was never a Dale Sr. fan, but I always thought he made the race exciting, and he had the skills, too. I met Jr. a couple of time. Seems to be a really nice guy, too. Doesn't have his dad's skill, though.
Kyle is another one like Dale Sr, to me, but without the fan loyalty. He's got some great seat of the pants skills, and balls. I'm not a Kyle fan either, but he sure does add some excitement to the "race", or what ever that was last night.

Like someone already stated, not a pretty boy, and certainly not politically correct, and not afraid to push on the rule book, either.

Precisely.

Also, stay away from the turn 3 infield at the 500. Even the cops don't go down there! That's a completely different kind of place! Went with a friend to the infield at turn 3 a few years back. we were there for 4 days, and it was grueling, smelly, and pretty raunchy to say the least.

And you're right John, I don't know what it is about drunken fat middle aged woman and flashing and nudity, but for some reason a few beers and JD's into the race, and "Whomp-dar-it-is".

...And in spite of my self, I can't keep from looking, even though it's sometimes nauseating. lol

Seriously, if you're a responsible parent, the infield is no place for kids. There should be
