Used Bullet cam out of a 340 stroker and unknown brand lifters. There are no parts numbers for this cam so there are going to be some unknowns. Builder checked that the lift is .555 and duration is somewhere around 255 @ .050. I know that it sounded pretty mean in my car. Motor was believed to have low mileage. $175 + shipping from Wichita. To get an idea of what the cam sounds like, there are a couple videos at the bottom and were recorded very shortly before I pulled the motor.

is there writing on the #1 journal? Looks like 525 and a BC? maybe that is relevant.

That was a nice catch. I never even saw the numbers. They are illegible to the naked eye but the camera flash helps pick them up. The numbers I'm seeing are 274/279 P1 BC 525315. See if anyone can find this cam. I didn't find anything that this related to.

Ok called up Bullet and gave them those numbers and here's what he came up with on the cam:

Duration:

247 @ .050 intake
251 @ .050 exhaust

Lift:

.559 intake
.540 exhaust

Lobe Separation:

107 LSA
103 installed

.016" lash

Hope this helps.

Why did you take it out?

Went with a roller cam with more lift and duration, hence why I'm selling the lifters, cam, springs, and pushrods on the old setup. Otherwise, this was going to be used in the rebuild since everything was still is very good shape. Motor had a nice lopey sound at idle and pulled HARD.

Yes lifters are sitting in the box with a label at one end designating the front of the engine. So the lifters will be able to be installed with the original lobe.

This is a good cam and lopey too. No wiped lobes. Still have it and open to offers.

Just so anyone knows, I might have swapped the lid end for end which told which lifter went where. So there's a 50/50 chance that the lifters are right. I don't know if new lifters can be used with the cam or not. People worry about wiped lobes when this happens I know, but would running high zinc additive or oil solve this? That's what I always ran.
