After coming down to where winter is mild compared to that in Western Canada, I went looking to replace the 1994 Suburban. It has always been a secondary vehicle back in Alberta but it is my only vehicle down here.

I discovered, much to my pleasant surprise, that car dealers were willing to offer something for it in trade. With >255,000 km (>158,000 miles) on the odometer, that would never have been possible in Canada. 8)

Thus, I made a deal yesterday. I left a deposit and will return with the balance so that I can bring home my 2004 BMW X3. I know, it is not a Mopar, but the gas consumption in a Durango is not a lot better than in a Suburban. The X3 will do much better.

I had previously owned a 525i and drove it for 9 years from ~36,000 miles until it was hit and killed at >242,500 miles. I must confess to being a big fan of the workmanship in German vehicles. (My wife's car is a 2000 Jetta TDI.) I do not have a camera here so I cannot provide a picture.
