PR I have heard some guys talking about them during bench racing sessions but as of yet none have shown up at track? No idea other than the gossip that they took a good idea and made it better.Has anyone tried the
"ASSASSIN" TRACTION BARS
made by Smith Racecraft, I bought a set for my 1970 Dart 408 they are very similar to the Caltrac's but are way more tuneable, Just wondering if anyone has any advice for me ..... Thanks !
Yes they refined the Caltrac idea and they are a fine looking piece very well made in the USA Texas quality is very goodPR I have heard some guys talking about them during bench racing sessions but as of yet none have shown up at track? I own a set, I'm working on getting my minitubs and springs relocated. I'm highly doubtful I'll have anything to tell before you get yours on but yes, they're a quality part.Has anyone tried the

They're the same price as the caltrac for inboards.Interesting. So these assassin bars, do they require mods?Do they need a special spring? What's the cost vs a Caltrack?
Question to anyone who has installed the "ASSASSIN" Traction Bars. I have SS springs on my Barracuda and have purchased a set of Assassins . The Instructions state "On Multi-leaf, may have to trim second leaf so the bracket sits flat". The second leaf on mine goes right up to the back edge of the eye so the bracket will still clamp flat against the 2 leafs. Should I still trim the second leaf? They're the same price as the caltrac for inboards.
They will work with any leaf springs.
I don't believe any mods are required.
I'm getting closer to installing mine, I have some mods to do but nothing pertaining to the assassin bars
Yes you have to trim that spring back about 5-6" I just trimmed min off with a cut off wheel on a small angle grinder I used my SS springs too but I wanted to lower my car so I took the spring pak apart and now only run the main and the second leafs in my car it works awesome and the car has a nice stance I think Mickey Thompson Drag radials 295/55R15 launch's good and hard ..... I will be taking it to the track in the spring.Question to anyone who has installed the "ASSASSIN" Traction Bars. I have SS springs on my Barracuda and have purchased a set of Assassins . Don't try and put the front mount on over 2 springs it does not work as the bolts and u-bolts supplied will be to short and it will also bind the spring up and make it a solid suspension .... I tried what you were thinking and it won't work sir.Question to anyone who has installed the "ASSASSIN" Traction Bars. I have SS springs on my Barracuda and have purchased a set of Assassins . Thanks Steve. Cutting the leafs was not in my original line of thought but it makes sense. Looks like I'll need to cut back the 2nd leaf about 5-6 inches on both sides and (I just realized) also the 3rd leaf on the right side a couple of inches. Not something I'm really familiar with. Any tips? Anything that I should be concerned with? I really don't want to lower the height if I can avoid it.Don't try and put the front mount on over 2 springs it does not work as the bolts and u-bolts supplied will be to short and it will also bind the spring up and make it a solid suspension ....
