I'm looking for the original engine block for my '70 Swinger, which was sold new in Canada (Y07). I know the car was in the Sault Ste Marie area in the late 1990s, and again about 10 years later. I don't know when the engine and chassis parted company, but I first saw this car in '01 and believe the block was in the trunk. The numbers transmission was disassembled in the back seat floor in 2001, and remains there to this day. The car is factory M3 Panther Pink, which might jog a memory or two. If it rings any kind of bell, help a brother out.

What's the vin number? I'm looking for my numbers matching 340 for my 1970 FM3 4-speed swinger also. It was sold new in Moorhead Minnesota.

I bought one of those in fall of 1970. I blew it up before the Five year 50,000 warranty period expired.
FM3 that's Pink right? Mine was pink too, Lemee see if I can still remember the Vin;
LM23H0Rxxxx321200; (was there an M29 in there?) Nope but, almost, that was 54 years ago. Some numbers never melt away. I still have 55 year old phone numbers in my head. But ya think I can remember even one out of six of my grandkids birthdays or even the birth-months? Nope. Well maybe one; the youngest is coming two around Christmas.

Um... exactly the same as yours, other than the last six or seven digits in the thread title? :D

I'm almost sure the block is in Canada. The first time I looked at the car in 2001, it was in Detour Village, MI. That owner bought it out of the Great White North. After it left his hands, it made its way back to our northern neighbors. Between my first seeing it and now, it was fairly-well picked over (steering column/wheel, tach, rear axle). The fella from whom I bought it acquired it through eBay around 2009 or 2010. He met the seller in Sault Ste. Marie ON or its surrounding area. It's been sitting untouched, indoors, at his farm ever since.

It's a total project, but remarkably solid.
