i have a 73 valiant 318 with small cam and edelbrock 600 performer carb. i got the calibration kit and leaned the cruise stage out 2 stages. runs great but idle isnt steady. bought a vacuum guage and when i hooked it up to start with i had about 15inches at idle but very erratic reading. retarded timing till it settled down and its now at about 12.5 inches of vacuum. this put me at about 10 degree initial timing. i adjusted my carb screws out to max vacuum and it runs pretty good but engine idle still a lil shakey. did i do this right or am i going about it all wrong. thanks.
carb adjust and vacuum readings?
