carb backfiring

I have a stroker 426 everything is working very well exccept when i stand on it it backfires through carb its a new carb built by bigs i have all kinds of power. i checked timing its good could it be a power valve it backfired pretty good a few times. thanks:cry:

What type of carburetor? Brand? Like pettybludart said, what's timing set at?

timing is locked out at 28 its a bigs 950 stage 5

Sounds like it's lean if it backfires when you go to the floor from a idle. May not be enough pump shot, or the idle mixture screws are out of adjustment,. The engine can be made richer by turning the idle mixture screws out but go 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time. As this increases the fuel a good bit at idle. What size jets are in the carb?

Check for vacuum leaks unpluged ports on carb or intake.
