Hey looking to buy a new carb for Dart. The suggestion I got was to go with the Edelbrock 650 cfm. Wondering if it is too small. Its a 69, 340 ported and polished by professional shop in town.
Thanks

edelbrocks trying to sell you a carb, the 3310 will make more power and a little tuning can be very responsive.

I say Holley 750. I noticed alot better throttle response when i took the edelbrock off and put the holley on my 10.2:1 340 w edelbrock heads.

Holley 3310,hands down.Easier to tune, parts usually available locally.

eddy 800 wold be better for your 340 , holley 750 if for max performance .

I had the Edd 650 on mine. I changed it to the Holley....will never go back once it is dialed in it is great.

Sounds like the Holley 750 seems to be the better idea !Double pumper or not ?? I've got the Edelbrock on a 340,and I'm not happy at all with it !!

I put a duble pumper on my 340 and love it. Jets are 72s primary and 84s secondary. I personaly dont care for the 3310s and have 2 ill sell. I dont like the fact that the secondary side dont have a meetering block, so no jets to swap around unless you buy the kit. Also hate swapping springs every time you put the carb on a diff engine. Secondary opens on vacume, witch is determined buy what cam you are running. Have ran the 3310s, but the double pumper seems more responsive.

I have a 600 4160 series Holley on my 340 and it runs Perfect!
Have 68 Jets in it and the AFR is perfect. Wondering why everybody has a 750 on the 340. Isn´t it too big for a 340?

750 is fine, most would say a 600 is a bit small for a 340, unless your driving style is fairly conservative.

The 750 responds well w big cam and high revs. I had a 4150 650 dp on a mild 340 and the throttle response seemed better down low than the 750. My current 340 loves the 750 4150 so id say its not to big for it.

I ran the 650 Edelbrock AVS when I had my stock 340 in the car. Had to jet it up and put a bigger accellerator nozzle in it then it ran great. Loved that carb, still have it in case the stock engine ever goes back in. Before that I ran a Holley 600 and it ran a 13.90 ET all stock engine with headers, 2 1/4" exhaust and 3.23 gears. Ran that Holley for about 20 years then it got tired.

If you have ported heads, headers, and a little bit of cam a 750 Holley would work well.

Die wilde, whats the octane like where your at ?In the States,it's pee water. Most people buy a bigger carb over here cause the gas is too lean.

Ok, i drive with 98 octan fuel.

Have RHS Heads ported with big valves, Lunati 60403 cam, HP manifolds
cr is around 10.5:1.
I never tryed a 750 bud i think i have to try it. I´m pretty satisfied with the 600.
I ran a 13,75 on the quarter with 727 and 3.23 gears.

A good friend of mine has a 750 dp laying around, so i will try it next time.

And my drivestyle is all, but not conservativ:cheers:
Usually i drive the Dart most time sideways!:burnout:
