Carb selection advice opinions needed

Hi,

Just got a low mlage 318 2bbl from an 82 diplomat. Wanted to freshen it up but am unsure of what carb would suite my upgrades. Here's what I've got

head's with large valves
4 bbl intake
headers
pertorinx ignition
slight cam

I';m thinking 500-600 cfm,,,,,what are your thoughts?

You are in the ballpark but the better you can spec out all of your components, the better feedback you will get.

A 600 cfm edelbrock or holley sounds about right. What are you putting the motor in? You mention big valve heads, what is the combustion chamber size? Open chamber heads would lower your already low compression ratio.

600cfm vac secondary would be good.jmo

Or 500-600cfm eddy

What heads do you have and there valve sizes?
What 4bbl. intake d you have?
What cam do you have?

500 cfm for stock to the most mild bolt n parts, 600 for the basic bolt on's and upgraded cam.
