Carb suggestion for 360

A 750 Proform will work great and is one of the cheapest carbs on that dyno chart and was ahead of the game up to 3400 rpm...The bigger the carb the more power you can make but where in the power band is important to the kind of driving of the vehicle and whats most important to the owner.

I use a 750 Proform on my 318 and it runs great...
I even used a new 850 proform and it to ran good also ...but at lower rpms the engine was not as smooth, due to the fuel not being atomized enough..

BUT...at full wot power it ran great...you would never know it was a 318 with a 850 cfm carb on it
Knowing how to tune a double pumper carb-- and having all the replacement parts-- helps a lot.
 
All carbs can be tuned some easier than others. I like the Demons/ Holleys some don't. I had a 750 sport claw on a 340 couldn't tune the idle circuit one call and some idle air bleeds later. She idled like a kitten purrs and drove crisp, clean and quick. Not satisfied with the high RPM power and less than stellar torque from the 340. I built a 422 from the same block same carb pulled the idle air restrictors and Bam simple jet swaps and good to go on this engine too. The way I Rate these carbs are Holleys Demons street, strip truck pulls, mud bogs flat land type events, EASY to tune. Qjets off road side hill slow speed crawling excellent trail manners, HARD to tune if necessary to tune.. AVS AFB and yes I have had a bunch cruiser to hot street carbs, Medium to tune and usually need some tuning. Thermo quad why,likely hard to tune, not many sources for parts and look like a turkey turd on a diamond. Admittedly I have never had or tuned a turkey turd.
