My 70 Dart headliner looks like crap and has 4 holes in it. Has any one repaired them with maby fiberglass and recoated it. I have an old leather couch I was thinking of using. If I have to spend money it comes off something else.

On my 74 dart sport I covered it with modern headliner material. I just took it down, sprayed it with 3M super trim adhesive # 08090 and put on the material folding it over the edges and trimming out the holes. Looks great.

Your car should not have a cardboard headliner. It should be a cloth liner with steel bows in the middle.

but it obviously has a cardboard headliner

I would fiberglass it and re-wrap it with your choice of material.

I did a cardboard headliner in an Omni. it had some areas of cracks in it, I duct taped the cracked areas, then glued sheet foam (I used a mattress pad trimmed to size), then covered it with vinyl, then made matching buttons and sewed them trough the vinyl, foam and tied them off above the cardboard.
