I just sent the form in for the FxBO tent, so it is time to start planning the tent activities for this year's event. (July 12, 2024 - July 14, 2024)

As a reminder, please list FBBO as your "car club" when registering a car. This helps us get a better tent for all of us to enjoy.
(We have been unable to get Carlisle to merge FABO, FBBO, FCBO, FEBO, etc. all into one for tent activities. So a few years ago we decided just to use FBBO. Note that registering your car with FBBO as your car club does NOTHING with respect to where your car gets shown, awards, etc. It merely allows us to get a decent tent for all to enjoy.)

As usual, we will be planning a big luncheon get together at the tent on Saturday. This luncheon is becoming very successful and enjoyable due to many members stopping by and also helping out. For all those that have helped or stopped by in previous years - THANK YOU! Our tent is growing so let's keep it going!

For those who may be new to FABO or the tent:

On Saturday, July 13, we will have a luncheon starting at Noon for all FxBO members at Carlisle. This luncheon is free due to generosity of members who give up their time and resources so everyone can have a good time. Please stop by and be part of the fun!

We also have water and soda at the tent on Friday so FxBO members can stop by and get a drink in the shade. We will also likely get together Friday for lunch, and maybe for dinner too for those members who are staying over in or near the fairgrounds. More to came as we make further plans.

If you have any ideas for tent activities, or for improvements to how we have done things in the past, please respond on this thread or send me a PM. I am happy to consider all ideas!

I hope to see you at Carlisle!

Done already!
Awesome - thank you!

This simple act helps make the whole tent and luncheon possible. Without it, we would have to pay for the tent and costs would go way up. I greatly appreciate the support

Thanks for doing this again, Hawk. If we want to pitch in to the costs how can we do that???
First, there is absolutely no requirement for anyone to pay for anything. The luncheon is done to be a low key, fun event for the FxBO family. Come and enjoy the fun!

For those that care to help, there are two ways:
1) Send me a PM and volunteer to bring something
2) At the luncheon, there will be a donation box to help defray costs. Folks are welcome to stick a couple dollars in that if they choose.

Hi Hawk! Nina and I plan on coming this year (for the day). Thanks for spearheading this for everyone! Bryan

Been there 4 years now, did not know about the tent. Will be there this year...

I can't remember the last time I was there and I live 1 hour away...go figure I like the smaller shows actually but I remember when Carlisle was small in the early 90s...but reaLLY I THINK ITS EITHER HOT AS HELL OR THUNDERSTORMS BREWING THATS WHAT I REMEMBER...not yelling caps lock...:)

Alright folks - it is starting to get close to Carlisle time!

I received my parking pass for my car today. Usually, at Carlisle I have too much to do so I can't show it, but one of my buddies will be driving it to Carlisle and showing it for me. Anyway, I received a map with it as well.

I scanned and edited the map to show where the FxBO tent is located. Please see attached picture below. The red box surrounds the indication for the tent; FBBO is tent "N". Look for the lightning bolt and circle in the middle of the picture and that is where the tent is located. This is a great location as it is centrally located for A, B, C, E bodies, etc.

Here is a closeup of the tent location:

Here are some rough details of the plans so far:
  • Friday, July 12: (All day) There will be a cooler with water and some soda available from late morning through the end of the day. Come get a free drink and some shade if you need it!
  • Friday, July 12: 12:30 PM. There will be a lunch gathering for those who want to stop for lunch at the tent. Water and soda will be available, and bring your own lunch and visit with some FxBO friends.
  • Saturday, July 13: Noon: The big luncheon starts at noon and goes until we get tired of eating and drinking, and/or the food and drinks run out! This is free of charge and is brought to you by the generosity of many members who contribute things for all of us. Come join the fun!
Also, if anyone has additional suggestions for use of the tent, please respond here or send me a PM. This is a resource available for all of us to use and enjoy. (Note that no cars are allowed to park near or in the tent, and we are not allowed to sell things at the tent either.)

Thanks for all your work on this, Hawk! If you need help with anything please post a request here.

I can't believe that after all these years they have moved the locations of the various cars around! Did they send you a list of classes with numbers for location?

Unfortunately, Carlisle did not send me any overall information on which classes go where. The only thing I know is that R137 is 70 Road Runner modified. But I doubt that helps anyone out!

For sure, things are moved around this year - looks like they swapped E bodies and A bodies from where they were in previous years.

The main thing is to show up to the FxBO tent and have fun (especially Saturday for lunch)!

Every year we have tried to hold a raffle of some items. We've had a couple of great years and some that are less exciting. It all depends on what is donated. We've had anything from $500 worth of tools to neat old Mopar memorabilia to hats and Hot Wheels!
If anyone has something they are willing to donate for a raffle please let me know via PM.

Thanks,

Hawk

I'm glad I stumbled upon this!! Weather permitting, my wife and I are a go. I'm not bringing my car down but plan on entering my truck for a good spot to park and it gets the 2 of us into the venue. I will mark down FBBO on my entrance form when I get there.

Thank you for listing FBBO, and welcome to the FxBO tent! Enjoy the show

Just got my entry package and looked at the map. The relative locations of the old vehicles (A, B, E, C) had been the same every year since my first visit to Carlisle in 1998, BUT NOT ANY MORE!!!. As you look at the show field from the grandstands, A bodies have shifted all the way to the right and E-bodies are where the A- bodies used to be. Later cars from the 80s, 90s and early 2000s are down off the hill between the A- bodies and the car corral. Trucks are on the hill and the newest Challengers, Chargers etc even farther away beyond the trucks. Big changes.
