as a hobbiest,
and small vender just tring 2 keep r hobby going .
Carlisle again raised there sites to 90.00 .
seems like there tring 2 push the little guys out.
first started @ Carlisle sites were 50.00.
maybe there just gready.
 
been to Carlisle twice, BUT way too far from Missouri! I gave up on taking parts ( or even going to the Nats) 10 years ago. the price of gas, motels, price of swap spot or tickets. all the BS on Brice Rd.

if Carlisle squeezes out the little vendor, i'n my opinion ya have much of nothing but a big cruise-in???? great vinue for the guys that are not too far away, to take their car and just enjoy.... but lets face facts, everything in this world is done for $$$$ when it comes down to it!????
 
I think 90 is not bad if you think about what it would cost for 3 days of entry and parking.
 
That's not bad compared to the fun field where last year they charged $55 just to let you let other people see your car.
I gave that up 10 years ago when it was $20.
Probably $60 this year.
 
If you don't mind roughing it in a tent or small camper then 90 bucks for the weekend isn't too bad.... But I agree everything is done for the sake of money and not the hobby.
 
all the times I was there years back, Brice was good for a couple hours. soon as someone chirped a tire, here comes the law, giving out a ticket and THEN they would shut down all but one lane ,, open one way for hours, then after most people left ,,,, open the road back up.

12 hour trip from here...... no thanks .....
 
I agree 90 bucks is chunk, but if you figure three days and LOTS and LOTS of people to sell your stuff to, its worth it. I go to allot of shows, but none are as good as The all Chrysler. If the fairground doesnt make money, they will replace the show with something that will. Plus, not as many vendors are showing up anymore. Thus higher prices for those of us who want to stay. The good part is... less vendors, more customers to buy your stuff and better odds of selling your stuff. Price it right and you will sell out. Now thats worth 90 bucks! Aint it?
 
For $90 do you get admission tickets and parking passes? I go to the Nats with a group that rents a small spot near the parking lot gate. We get 2 admission tickets and a parking pass. With a Easy up, cooler, grill, and chairs we are set for the weekend. We have a place to eat, hang out, and we are just a few steps from our vehicle. We split the cost so it's pretty cheap. Tmm

Carlisle is a great event, 3&1/2 days, more parts/vendors than anywhere, a ton of great cars instead of the same old, same old at home. The clinics and getting to see my old Mopar racing heroes is worth the price of admission.
 
The food and drinks there are about as much as a 71 Cuda I paid 7 bucks for 1 sandwich to much greed there for me

How much are they at a pro baseball game, Nascar race, NHRA race, etc...?
 
Attended Spring Carlisle. Probably counted the small vendors (Mopar) on one hand. With those rates probably hard to justify unless serious seller. ( I thought some more local small vendors would show up). The crowd has changed. People still buying though. Funny that the car corral had say 10-15% Mopars and there were only like three small local vendors (Mopar). Several of the advertised larger vendors on here were there. I needed fasteners, weatherstripping, ++ and did okay. Helped a neighbor that was a vendor, and that offset food/ parking costs. Had I needed Nova, Chevelle, GTO or Mustang repops I would have been fine. Things like bumpers, tanks, etc.- it was a good place to talk to the actual vendors. A small vendor would have to have been organized to re-coup costs. I think there is still a niche for a small vendor, but you would need one or two things to sell to cover costs.
 
No offense to the OP, but I find it really ironic that a vendor is complaining about prices. $90 for three days? You have the top Mopar show in the country to sell your over-priced parts. Really?
 
I personally Love it. Granted, I live nearby in Maryland. My wife doesn't want to go for three days, so It's perfect for me. How much is a motel room for a night? $125 ? I take 2 spots, gives me 20 ft X 30 ft.$180 for three nights ? I park my Truck there , Pitch my tent. Got my grill, my cooler, food, BEER. Whats not to like. Last year I sold 4k worth of parts just left over from MY previous builds. ( at reasonable prices ). I always make sure that I have someone coming each day to hang out for a few hours, so I can get out and about to see everything. Is it here yet ? Whats not to LIKE ???
 
I vended there for the first time last week. Wednesday was set up day, the first two sales occurred before 8 AM while I was still unloading & they paid the fee for the space. By the end of Thursday about 85% of my stuff was gone, so I did not go back. The cash for unused items is great, but even better the extra space in the garage.

If parts pile up again by the Fall Meet I'll do it again. It sure beats internet sales & people that make appointments to come look at stuff & never show up.

And this is your interest instead of those things. This is what food at major events or attractions cost.

You live a hour and half away and won't go because of a $7 sandwich?

At Moparts at the Strip it was approaching $10.
 
I wouldn't mind going for the day it is a great Show i don't have a problem with it i was just saying...its whatever i guess
 
I agree 90 is too much BUT in PA. what else do we have? ( mopar that is )

I agree it's a bummer with the jacked up food. And they know nearly everyone has to eat there.

On the other side, I don't think they can compete with the efficiencies of purchasing and production of a huge national fast food chain that works 18 hours a day almost every day in the same location.
 
Are the hotel rooms really $125/night?

The host hotel we have for Spring Fling in the middle of Los Angeles where the median price of a home is over 1/2 million dollars is $99/night.
