trying to order a new set of carrier bearings for a 8.75. Problem is that they come in 1.8" or 2.0". I keep micing 1.78". I'm going crazy over here.....

Maybe you're on a small bevel with your calipers? Maybe your calipers are off??? It's most likely the early style 1.8" bearing you need.

If there are only two and the small one is 1.80 and measured with that caliper at 1.78 I'd say that's the one you need.
There is only .002 discrepancy there, so it has to be the 1.80 bearing.
PLUS I think you are out on part of the taper and where the inner race seats is a little bigger. (like .002)
