Carter Thermoquad

I'm posting this thread on behalf of my friend who is not a member. He owns a 1979 Little Red Express with a 360, its has the factory 4bl Thermoquad. He wants to know if there is an adaptor available which will allow him to run a Holley or Edelbrock carb on the factory intake manifold.

Thank you R.R.R for the response, you being a carb rebuilder what 4bl carb would you recommend? other then the Carter for this guys 79 with the original 360 that has no modifications whatsoever.

I would try one of the little Street Demons. The 625.

That was another option my friend was tossing around, just get the original rebuild.

This is a question for my own curiousity, what cfm would the original Thermoquad have on a 79 360? I believe on a 340 it was 800 cfm and on the 318 it was 520 cfm.

We loving call them 800/850. But it is not entirely accurate. The LRE truck had the larger TQ rated at approx. IIRC, @ 795.

There is a thread on it here somewhere by a member that passed on. Can someone get that "TQ" cfm link please.
