hi guys this is my first thread..but always reading other interesting threads on this site. so..my question is..an old mechanic friend had a 340 block (bored .020 over) he was getting rid of ( scrap yard)so i didn't have the heart to see him just throw it out..so i've decided to save it and build it close to stock and just keep it ready to go. i've been trying to find a supplier for a set of cast .020 over 340 pistons as the block has been already bored to this size. the only ones i can find are the 428p20 pistons @ summit. they state that they fit a 340 from 68-73..however they are a pressed pin style wrist pin. as far as i know all 340 rods were not pressed pin. does my question is..does anyone know of a supplier for a set of CAST .020 OVER 340 pistons that will work with stock connecting rods? thanks

I can't help much, but my thoughts would be to take it to .030 (if it's been sitting any amount of time, it might be necessary anyway to clean up the bores) and that opens the market for pistons up substantially.

Just my 2 pennies.

I bought 360 cast replacement Badger pistons...but that was years ago..not sure if they are still around. I know your looking for 340 pistons maybe Badger or speed-Pro?
Try Ebay...I did see a set there not long ago...maybe still listed?

thanks for the feedback..looks like the hyper pistons are the only solution..never used them ..are they o.k. my local maching shop says that they are prone to breaking if the engine detonates. ..i'm thinking ..just be carefull

Then go forged. They aren't that much more.
