CAUSES? High oil pressure

-
SB? The relief spring is behind the cotter pin or pressed in plug on the pump, They sell a "340" spring that is heavier for more PSI before bypass but anything above 40 psi at cruise or "10 psi per 1k RPM" rule is overkill and hurting mileage. High mileage oil probably has more detergents in it, nothing more.

I bet somehow the Sending unit wire got shorted to ground. It would be nice to see the Mechanical reading from a good gauge.

Oh geez your probably going to laugh at me but I'm going by the OE gauge that's on the car the water temp is he only gauge that doesn't work on it so that's the only gauge that I have flyer market .
That water gauge is reading normaly hat it always read which is 190ish not sure what type of gauge it is off the top of my head

Are any of the other gages reading high also? Then it could be the voltage limiter on the gages acting up.

Pick up an aftermarked mechanical oil pressure gage. It is more accurate.

Can you explain a little more
I'd like to check this out
Wires oming from gauge maybe grounded? Or hitting gound? Somewhere?
Or would I find this in a faulty fuse?
