Does anyone have a parts breakdown or explode view of the center console shifter?
I have a shifter that was apart and trying to find out how the dent spring is held in place. It is the spring that goes behind the dent to push it back into the notches. I have the service manuals, but they do not have a breakdown of the shifter and it's parts.

Thanks
I have seen this, but what holds that spring in? #21-30-355

I pretty sure a cotter pin holds the spring in place. There should be a hole at the bottom of the shifter shaft?

There is, there is!! it was hidden by grease, looked solid. Thanks
Now I feel stupid.

Glad you got it worked out. I was racking my brain without being able to see the parts I have and was thinking one of the clips went through the holes but as soon as Gil said it, it dawnd on me.

I looked at it and looked, did not see it at first. I put white grease on the pawl and it filled the holes, so it looked solid.

If the spring isn't as strong as it was when it was new you can stack any amount of small washers just above the cotter pin to give the "push button" a better feel??
