I have changed belts on things like that before and it's not recommended for your average tinkerer mechanic.
You could easily end up with that screwdriver in your eye if the belt is tight.
That belt wasn't.

Yup.

Changed the belt in five seconds after taking a few minutes to make sure it was loose so you pull the trick.

I have done it my self but not recommended, anyway this was on an old "Egg Beater".
