i am going to change my open end 8.75 to suregrip 8.75 i know i need to pull axels out a little to get third member out, do i have to take brakes and everything off or will it come out enough in one piece, or do the brakes have nothing to do with it? thanks

You can access the nuts through the axle flange, that's why there is one big hole in it. Use a 6" extension and a 9/16 socket and your all set.
The axle might not just slide out. If it won't and you have all 5 nuts off. Put the brake drum on backwards, put the lug nuts on so the studs are even with the top of the nuts, and use the brake drum as a slide hammer to pop the axle out.

Should look like this.

That's one of the things I like most about the 8.75 - easy gear swaps with the dropout center section. I have three I can choose from.

when you get the new rear end in DO NOT froget to adjust the axle end play by using the adjuster on the right axle if it is out of adjustment by too much can be big trouble
