Cheapest way to built a 300-350hp small block = Building a small block chevy !
Hey, nothing wrong with having an engine with no car.
"Who is this heretic in our midst?"
FYI = Cheapest way to build a 500-600hp big block = Build a big block chevy ! :finga:
Dont get your panties in a wad .. The truth stings a lil sometimes ! :violent1:
Should be a roller. Easy to pull the distributor and look.
Get a roller cam reground and have at it!
Miles don;t really matter with the magnum, they always have nerglible bore wear, even at 200k. What are you gonna do for front accessories? Love the serp setup.
Yes! Regrind the cam and reuse the OE lifters.
Add carb, distributor, intake and headers. Have a great day. Your done!
will the magnum engine accept the LA style accessories? only really need the alternator and the power steering pump. or are the magnum brackets and alternator easy to adapt?
who would you recommend i send the cam to get the regrind done? whats it cost? if the lifters are re-useable then it would almost be easier to just buy a new cam and slap it in. then i would have zero down time.
Miles don't really matter with the Magnum, they always have negligible bore wear and good compression, even at 200k when I got mine. I'd put the extra $200 you save from getting the block at Budget (if they are still the same price) into a rebuild kit from northern auto. Like it really needs one anyway.

Don't forget bullet and oregon. Tim at bullet did me well, $250 shipped both ways.
Sorry to hear about Budget. Junkyards make plenty of money, what the don't sell gets scrapped anyway. I got mine a couple years ago. That's still a hefty increase. Sounds like someone is dicking you around. Or it's the only one they have and it's out of something special. I hate junkyard a$$holes.
I sent mine to Bullet, they took all my info about the car and planned use and sent this back to me. You'll have to get the adapter for the mechanical fuel pump for the Magnum cam. The cam is going into a 67 Barracuda convertible so it's a little mild. The top end of the 90 360 is Magnum heads with some pocket/valve work so the final lift is .459, just a cruiser with some snot.
Duration @ .050 209 209
lobe lift .287 .287
LSA 114 deg
duration @ .006 266 deg 266deg
gross lift @ 1.6 459.2 459.2
intake deg @ 110 deg.
The cost was 125.00 plus shipping
Talk to them and explain what you want, I've built too many over cammed motors to make that mistake again. They turn on at 3 g's and suck from idle to then. They ain't fun in traffic!!!! The only other problem you'll encounter with this is you'll need new pushrods. The smaller base circle will mean a longer push rod.
