At this point has anyone attempted clear coating the chrome paint?

Well. Tried it out. YES IT DOES TURN THE CHROME TO A DARK GRAY. Don't do it!

I wouldn't clear the Duplicolor or any other "Chrome" paint. It will turn gray immediatly!

Watch out clearing the chrome paint in some cases the clear will soften the layer of paint it is covering, I would test the chrome paint and clear on something first !!!!!!
