Chrysler (Mopar) Nat's Check-In

-
Yes Yes Heading down to the Nats, bring the whole fam this yr. I don't have the dart any more, but I have my 74 Challenger back after selling it 18 yrs ago. Look for a red 74in the fun area. I still have a thing for the darts.
See all my Michigan buds on the road down (Grand rapids, midland, and Pinckney) Beep as you pass.

I can understand some what with making it safe, but most of the boozes area the locals. But hey we can all show them that the Mopar Nation are safe.

Is it time yet????
I'm packed and ready to go. Thursday morning can't come soon enough!!!!

We've been going for 3 days now,,,,I live too damn far away! Still have 700miles to go! You are right about Thursday morning not coming soon enough, we can't wait!

Coming down Friday with the wife. She accidentally volunteered us to attend a co-workers wedding on Saturday. I would bring the 66 Cuda if I weren't picking up some large items at the swap meet that won't fit in the Cuda. We will stop by the FABO area to hang out. I want to check out Hemi Denny's K frame. Hopefully he will have some on display. That's my next big purchase for my 67 Dart. Drive safe everyone.

Link to article in the Newark, Ohio paper where they tell that they realize that
the troublemakers are mostly locals and area people that have no connection
to the Mopar Nationals.

They are well aware of the impact the Nat's has on the local economy and are
afraid that they could loose it to another venue.

It was pointed out to them why we left Indy and I, for one, would never go back.

I see they mentioned a "parade". This idea would NEVER fly. That's what they had
the last time I went to Brice Road - crawling gridlock. We want to cruise!

I suggest that whatever street they choose to close down that they then admit only
cars with current Nat's entry identification displayed and you will finally get the best
musclecars to come out.

Those that do attend, please exercise some restraint and show the town that we have
some brains! It can only benefit us in the future.

This is some good advice. But only if used.

I love the idea of only letting cars with permits to cruise. Only issue with Heath is that the route that's cruised is the main road in and out of town. Also I do like seeing some of the fords and Chevys it brings out, plus I love the Burnouts and a lot of times that's other brands. Either way they need to keep the Burnouts. The cops just need to use discretion when ticketing. There are people doing dangerous stuff like just flooring it to burnout and going flying down the street. Then there are guys that do a powerbreak and coast out of it.

I know I'm not alone so if they get carried away with the tickets this year then us rowdy folks will move elsewhere.

Normally, I would be the first to say "the more the merrier". I too love the friendly brand competition
but this venue is going to impload due to the influx of stuff that just does not belong. And let's be honest,
A nice Mustang or Camaro is one thing but there is a lot of junk showing up out there.

This is supposed to be a Mopar musclecar cruise yet every goat roper in a 50 mile radius uses it as an
excuse to see how stupid they can act while ruining the whole thing for everyone else.

I fully support the idea of limiting the access to the cruising lanes to ONLY vehicles displaying a current
Mopar Nat's show registration.....and by that, I mean a display vehicle registration; NOT a tow vehicle.
They must also be allowed to cruise at reasonable speeds, but please, no "parades".

I would also encourage the merchants that have now banned all parking to allow these
same vehicles back on their property as long as the participants exhibit exemplary behavior.

If I wanted to cruise my Mopar and they were having the Mustang Nationals or a Super Chevy weekend
and things were under control, then fine. But with these issues jeopardizing the show, I would happily sit
out and wait until a time when my brand was featured.

That was a good article. It seems like they are really trying to work something out. I think someone from Heath is reading these Mopar sites. That's the only way they would have heard about the possibility of getting something started on N21st.

I see your point. I just don't believe it is getting as out of hand as they believe. Go down to mustang week or go to Daytona or sturgis. THAT is wild and dangerous. I have been going to Heath for at least five years and I don't remember seeing a accident. This chief just wants to prove himself!

I will be just about 100 feet north on the hi side of the hill so i can watch all the cars go down the staging lanes to race. been their 5 years now and its a grate spot.I thought a bodies was moveing to that area but i guess that didn't happen. i will just have to walk over to visit and would love to have visitors. ill be with the blue barracuda convertable. cant wate for my weekend in paradice.

We considered moving ....and the majority in attendance at that time decided it is best to stay put.

We are always open to input for improvement......

Our whole gang is heading out tomorrow morning.. We were looking forward to Heath,... but last year we sat in gridlock on Saturday night, while every dumb *** with a diesel truck thought fumigating the area with thick clouds of black smoke, doing senseless mini burnouts to help create said cloud was a good idea... that mixed with the one lane in each direction which is sure to create a wonderful parking lot, will most likely keep us from going... Sadly my Dart wont be there this year.. Still havent gotten the tranny rebuilt yet.. I will see ya at the tent...

Other than the members who have signed up to be "under the tent"

Who plans on parking in the FABO area adjacent to the tent?
Be nice to have some idea of a head count.

I will go down Tuesday and try to caution tape off the area....but I have NO IDEA how much room is needed.

Last year....there was all kinds of room.....but less than five A bodies showed up. I felt like I was being a bit hoggish with the generous PRIMO space allocated to us (FABO) by the Nats officials .....so the area was opened up to anyone.

I'll be there Saturday only, but would like to park my Scamp near the tent.

Website states gates open at 08:00; does anyone know if there is a line that forms to get in?

I made it!!! 14 hours and 783 miles.
Looks like lime green is the color of choice. Three cars in a couple of mintues.

My friend Ron from Indiana just sent me an email telling about all of the stuff I am missing
at the Mopar Nationals. I can't believe that no one is posting anything!

Someone please post some pics of the big tent and FABO area. He said it is awesome!

I'm in Heath right now. Looks like the cops didn't do much last night. I'm at Buffalo Wild Wings but I'll be cruising.

150. First ticket ever after 8 years of driving. I am glad it happened at the nats.

Congrats. That looks like a lot of writing.

As soon as the cop got back in his car to write it I had people walking up giving my high fives. Plus while he was busy writing me up there was people next to us doing burn outs. As long as my insurance doesn't sky rocket I am happy with the trip. I made some youngins smile.
