cl scam?

Oh yeah, if the guy writes like a Brit, its fake. "Issue" a check, "money transfer" and a generic sounding response like " Im interested in your item on craigslist"...

I would hereforth desire to present you information from my father, Esteemed Minister of African Fraud, that the e-mail you received is scamulous. If you please forward $1000 to his bank account in the Caymans, we will reward you famously for bringing this to our attention.

this doesnt stop it, I get scam texts and phone calls all the time. My opinion, its stupid but it is what it is. price you pay for using a free internet service, just report all the email addresses as spam when they come into your box and enjoy a coke.

it works in my case. i run adds every week. i only post the phone number. we dont get calls from scammers, only interested parties and bill collectors lol

I never allow email replies to my CL ads - I hide email, and only put phone number in with alternating letters/numbers to trick the bots.

Only using phone number stops 95% of the scams.

100% correct. in my case, i dont get ANY..... this works ..... such as.... four77three0eight8

I have only posted 2 ads on CL and each time within an hour had an email that my ad was removed for some reason, click here for more information. I just ignored it, checked cl and the ad was there, did get one email "Is the product still for sale", ignored it. I now get one text a month for some easy loan place.
