5.9 Magnum 4 speed afficionado
I've got a 1969 Dart 5.9 magnum, 1634 Oregon cam/Hughes 1199 spring kit, Ede air gap intake, Holley 750dp, Dougs D453's. I read a couple other threads about using a clutch tamer and making sure to use the right clutch (correct clamping pressure for the HP). I'm currently using a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch/pressure plate (2.66 23 spline A833), 8 3/4 3.23 gears. At the track using 245/60R15 cooper cobras it would either bog or blow the tires off (no chance of recovering) I figured with the clutch I was using the street tires would save the driveline. Would like to order some slicks so I don't have to keep driving around the water box, SCARED hahahaha.
Next year I'm planning on using my other transmission (64/65 3.09 gearset with the 3.23's) or my other 3rd member with 3.91 gears.
Will the clutch tamer work with the Centerforce clutch disc (should I buy a organic only disc or a different clutch kit all together)?
Using an old Lakewood scatter shield, adjusted freeplay with the pedal. Should I be drilling a hole and busting out the feeler gauge?
Thanks
