coating for new headers

Well ordered the plain 2'' hooker fenderwell headers and the coated ones came in,the speed shop wouldn't made a deal on them,so the plain ones are on the way.What should I put on them to make them lasat? That $231 was just too much for the factory coating. In the 70's we used VHT but I would think by now there would be something better & not cost so much.What do you guys use?

I made a post about this awhile ago and got mixed responses...most said to either use bbq grill paint or use the vht flame proof paint and heat cycle it properly as it really is good stuff when applied and cycled right (so i was told)...im going to be trying the VHT stuff myself on my heddmans...If i was you though id make sure i take off all the factory paint, otherwise your wasting your time coating it with anything else
 
mshred, how did you mate that T-5 trans to your Mopar? What was the T-5 orignally from. Very interested. Thanks.
