cold air intake for six pack hood

Has anyone designed their own air box to seal the carb to a six pack hood looking to try it on my duster...

I haven't tried it yet, but I was planning on using the bottom from a 2bbl air cleaner as the box. I would cut out the section where the air cleaner joins to the carb, and weld or rivet the bottom from a smaller cheap aftermarket 4bbl air cleaner in its place. Then use the top of the aftermarket unit on a smaller filter. I haven't figured out waht to use to seal the box to the hood yet.

do you mean like this? Used an old air cleaner base to get started and a piece of sheet metal. It seals to the bottom of a lift off 6 pack hood.
