Colomn shift problem

Hi i have a strange problem in my 68 Dodge truck if i put it in drive and turn left or right the shifter jumps in to neutral and some times even jumps to rev feels like something is hiting inside the colomn iv adjusted the shift lever on the trany but its the same problem the colomn is from a 70 valiant and its a 727 auto any sugestions

Are you sure the column is secure? It might be twisting slightly when you turn causing the shift lever to go to the neural position. A friend & I had a very similar problem & we finally found that the entire column was twist slightly. We secured the column in a different manner & it cured the problem.
