I'll start by saying I'm not doing any sort of a concours restoration, I Just want it to be close/similar to original...

1967 Barracuda

I'm installing a new fuel tank, strap and bolt in my car and wondering about correct colors.

Does the tank remain unpainted (galvanized)?

The strap I purchases is unpainted, should it be painted black?

The j bolt is unpainted, should it be painted black?

tank should be galvanized color, i believe the straps were natural metal look. i believe the J bolt is natural gold tone anodize.

whatever colors you find they're supposed to be, you need to spray the back half by the spare tire well with undercoating... and make sure it looks like you pretty much don't give a crap

i have an extra 67 crossways strap. converting my 67 notchback coupe to the 68 up double straps to give me more room for dual exhaust, under the grime it appears to be zinc dip galvanized.

I believe the straps were galvanized and left bare. J bolts were probably zinc or yellow cad. Tank was galvanized .
