The main hoop should sit on the rear floor pan right? Hoop is about 3" too short. Fits great if i put it up on the rear seat hump. Is it safe to splice 3" on the tubes?

Here is the NHRA rule book. http://www.nhra.com/tech_specs/sportcompact/2008_SC_Rulebook.pdf

Should be safe but don't know if it will pass tech or not.

Way I seen it done s they take a tube that is the same OD and the cage ID. They slide that tube in there to span the gap in side the cage tubes leving a small gap then weld both sides and weld in the crack.

They do that all the time with buggys just don't know what the NHRA has to say about it.

Competition Engineering make a 2nd Gen A body specific kit. The main hoop just fits in. Maybe your hoop came from a different kit.

Very well could have. I bought it from a guy I know. He said it was for his duster. Doesn't matter, need to either get one bent or dd to this one. Is the roof short on a 67-69 Dart? I see on summit the application for the 70-76 doesn't show the earlier ones. Maybe this is why Buddy didn't put it in his Duster?

I can bend one up for you...but dont know where you live and what shipping would be. I am bending one up tomorrow for another member...let me know.
Thanks!

LOL, I'm in snowy Atlantic Canada. Not sure if I can get further from you. There is a local guy that builds very nice drag cars. i will call him this evening. Thanks for the offer.
