Back in Jan. my reverse arm on my shifter broke .Got it out of reverse with the shifter and had the 4 forward gears to drive home with. I put in a good reverse arm # 2336 and put it all back together and can't get reverse no mater how much I try.I've had these in my cars for 40 years ! I know how to adjust them and it is adjusted right but still as soon as I try reverse it locks up.Could anyone tell me the correct placement of the 3 shims A thin a thick and a wave I do have another trans but I really don't want to change it if it's just the shifter. The trans has been in the car for a good 10 years now and always worked fine.. Am I missing something here? This one has me stumped .I can move the rev arm on the trans in & out of gear with no linkage attached by hand and it does engage the gear and then go back to neutral. The shift lever will not engage the reverse arm using the shift lever in the car with the linkage attached or un attached
