Chances are to do the job right you will need at least part of an AC firewall.
What is the difference in firewalls? I assumed I would need to make new holes for evap connections.

This will show you the difference. It is pretty easy to do. I have a piece of ac firewall that I used as a layover to trace out where it needed to be cut. My son goes to school down in springfield and I could drop it off but I will not be going back down there until fall. I could send it to you if you like.

That is a great reference picture and a great idea. I may take you up on that offer to use the template. I just bought the 68 so I am trying to learn all I can. I don't want to put in one of the repro kits, I want it to look totally OEM.

I have a correct diffuser (the louver part that bolts to the bottom of the dash). Early style with chrome plated metal vents. It would look better on your car than in my storage unit.
