confused on distributor gear and oil pump drive shaft

does the oil pump driveshaft go into the same hole as the distributor and does the distributor slip into the other end of the gear?

Yes the oil pump driveshaft go's into the distributor hole and into the oil pump and the distributor slides into the gear on the other end.

Word to the wise.......not sure if you are asking this question because you are in the middle of assembling a fresh engine or not? but if so....while you are in the area,do not forget to prime your engine.

Thanks guys. my engine builder and i did put 4 qts of oil in and spun the oil pump with a electric drill to see if there was oil pressure which there was and he primed the engine. I just didn't know how the the distributor hooked up since the oil pump shaft was taken out.
