connecting rod help

My 340 has 3418645 floaters
It seems that a lot of people have 645 floating rods, that have no recollection or knowledge of them being converted from press fit to floating.
It could be possible that Chrysler used the same rods but used floating pins in these rods for certain applications?
 
They came with 70 340 block I bought from "my" machinist. So can't say for sure

Absolutely. I think we have enough evidence right on this thread that Chrysler made them both ways.
 
bugger up a press fit little end? just bore and bush it. Probably happened lots of times in the past as these parts are over 50 years old now. Same castings could be done up either way, bushed is just 2 more machine operations from the start or an easy upgrade later.
