I've decided I'm not crazy about lock-up Torqueflite's.

I'm curious about the conversion to non-lock up and if I have the correct ingredients on hand to do this: what happened is the lock-up small block 727in my 77 Street Van is giving up the ghost at 145k. I have a stock big block 727 trans & converter from a 1970 383 C-body with 60k on it taking up space.

Can I combine the pump, input shaft, converter, etc from the bb 727 into the sb 727?

Will the bb converter bolt to my 318 flexplate?

After watching the 19-video youtube torqueflite rebuild dude MANY times, and my soon purchase of this http://www.northernautoparts.com/ProductModelDetail.cfm?ProductModelId=764 I'm feeling alright about taking this on if everything is compatible...

Thanks!
Tyson

just swap the transmission case and you will be good. use everything from the b trans in the a case(except the band servo pistons) also,if your converter(lock up) has weights, move the weight to the non lock up converter.

SGQ is correct. There were some other changes internally that might give you problems trying to get it all to work together so your best bet is to swap everything into your 77 case. And don't forget to use the non-lockup valve body also.

BTW: Make sure when you buy a kit to buy it for the 70 trans. cause some of the seals were changed around 70-71.

Hey Youngblood, hope i'm not too late here... But you can dowwnload the ATSG manual from mymopar site.
