Converting over, need some advice

The Demon doesn't look that bad. The door striker is normal, from a loose door hinge, and an easy fix. I would check the floors under the rubber mat, and check the quarters real good. If the floors are bad you should be able to see them from under the car. The 72 looks to be a fairly good car. I would bet that $7000 cash on the hood of the 73 duster buys it.

The clone 340 is listed as a 74 by the owner (I am not versed on nuances), he seems pretty firm talking to him, I don't think he'll budge much, but he has had 1 guy back out. Cash in hand will change minds though, I agree.

Buy the best car you can afford, it is much cheaper that way.

The striker on older a bodies crack out, it doesn't mean it was a rust bucket. They even make repair pieces for this. I had to repair mine, someone welded the striker to the jamb.

One thing to look for is the rust in the front frame rail around upper control arms and torsion bar/trans mount support

many need floor and trunk pans all available in aftermarket.

I have seen some really reasonable cars listed here on this site. Might have to travel to go get it, or have it shipped.

There are several members that would be more than happy to check a car out for you. A real rust free west coast car would be worth the shipping in a lot of cases.

That '71 Demon is very firmiliar to me. A member of here (if I'm correct) who goes by 'sharpie' owns it.
