Sun MDT distributor tester

Cool stuff! How does that Plug Scope work?

If the distributor tester works they actually are useful. Wouldn't mind having on myself.

No pictures but I scored a Snap on manual wheel balancer. (hand crank) I have some old tach/dwell meters and a MAC tune up machine that cancels cylinders. the photo is the wrong model but you get the idea. I use both of those.

It's not the most practical thing in the world, considering its size, but for $50, my Sun Scope was a fun purchase!

I've used it several times, but I've got no old time experts around to train me on it, so I've relied on Sun instruction books. Needless to say, unless the car has an obvious malady, I'm not an expert on it.

What always throws me off is how unstable all the lines are as the cylinders fire; in the pictures in my manual, the lines are always static. :)

The lines basically tell you how the spark is, I used a few of them in the 80's. There are a few good u tube vids on them out there.

Mine has a cylinder kill function that is really helpful for cylinder balance tests.
