Nothing like the sound of a round motor
You got that right, I fixed my garage fan today, it's been hot out here.

So far the cool sight of the day was some guy drove by in a Comet GT.
I should have hollered at him, maybe he would have stopped for a bit.
My first drivable car was a six cylinder 71 Comet that I ran into a pole after one week, so my grandfather helped me put a Maverick front end on it .

What about this, yesterday I was on my way to an early Fourth of July celebration when I passed through some Podunk little town. Blocking the intersection was a guy trying to push 50s Ford pickup truck, I think an F-100. So I pulled over and help him push it into a parking lot. I offer to jump him but he said that that would fry the six volt system in the Ford but he had already called in for reinforcements. sorry, no pictures

Well, I'm gonna have to do it, so here is my 4th of July around town car. I fixed my cracked header and ceramic coated it black, lengthened it 6 inches (no more exhaust on the body). Now, If I could only finish the Dart!

we live about 40-50 miles from the nearest AFB so we don't get much traffic from them out this way BUT, every once in a while we'll get some "hot doggers" who will go low (as in "tree top" under the radar) and go ripping over this area... pretty awesome to be out in the back yard on a Sunday afternoon and have two Warthogs or F-15's come screaming at ya out of nowhere -- there are mountains to my east and west which is where they always come from - (north and south would follow the main interstate, they aren't going to do that) and do a high speed fly-over way out here. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to be outside when they flew over and one of the pilots saw me waving at them - he spun around gave me a "wing tip" as he headed back out - that was pretty dang cool.

Would that be a snow blower? It's illegal to own one of those here in the SF bay area :icon_fU:

It's a snow thrower. Single stage. Winter will be here before you know it. Over here in a he great white north.

I remember going to one of the aforementioned air shows and striking up a conversation with an F-14 pilot and his RIO. I was sixteen or so at the time and applying myself to graduate and go on to become an F-15 pilot in the Air Force.

Of course, they were walking recruitment posters for the Navy. My brother in law was career Navy (he tried to recruit me, too).

They were there for static display and didn't fly a demonstration and we talked for a couple of hours.

When it came time for them to leave I was standing right in front of the crowd at the fenced in area for the taxi way.

The RIO saw me standing there waving to them and tapped his pilot on the shoulder. He brought the plane to a halt, set the brake, and firewalled the throttle. In perfect synchronization they both snapped off a salute to me then waved as much as the canopy would allow them to, before the pilot popped the brake and slid on out to the runway.

Drove throughout Templeton & Paso Robles,Ca.today....
Saw a perfect clone of the General Lee, down to the Hurricane wheels, and truck push bar... (Was healthy, 440-ish Magnum style...) , second ..and weird... Watching a cat with a broken leg, climb a fence, with perfect balance.... Sometimes, those small details, mean a lot.... Share yours....

My wife and I decided to take an afternoon road trip from Phoenix to Tucson. Drove over to Old Tucson just to see where it was at. Didn't gt out, just too stinkin hot and we didn't have walking shoes with us. Here's the Arizona National Forrest

My wife and I decided to take an afternoon road trip down to Tucson. Stopped at the Old Tucson movie set just to see where it was at. Didn't get out because it was stinking hot and we didn't have walking shoes. On the way out she shot this of the Arizona National Forest

For you aviation buff we went over to Davis Monthan AFB to check out the AC bone yard. Thousands of mothballed aircraft. Saw C5s, C130s, B52s, B1s, F16s, A10s

I wondered where all the P3C's had gone

Yeah, we passed a building that apparently housed the navy staff that manages their fleet. Another interesting sight was it looked like they were cannibalizing several of the A10s for parts.
