Correct ‘69 340 coil bracket?

I have never seen one like this before.
 
Its exactly the same type that would bolt directly to the intake but it’s bolted to a bracket that keeps it relatively on the same plane just moved forward an inch, looks factory made.

Is the date on the manifold 9/26/69? That would be for a '70 340.
 
Looks like it might be something that would come in handy for guys wanting to run a "big cap" distributor.

Maybe but this thing looks like it has been on since the intake was installed.
Factory cast iron intake.
No BigBoy MSD back then.
Right, it was probably to provide clearance for something else at the time- just making the observation that it could still be useful to the right person.

How about clearance for factory A/C. It can get tight by the firewall. I realize they made thousands of SB V8 A-body cars with air without this piece.

I wonder since it moves the coil closer to the carb if this was on a 70 'cuda 340 with a Shaker? Did they have those in '70? Certainly in '71.
