Correct Color Master Cylinder

Hey guys,
Does anyone know what the correct color would be for a master cylinder on a 69 Dart, not original, been converted to late discs. It's a new 73 up master cylinder so, I had considered just clear coating the cast iron. What are your opinions?

Cast.
I would leave it natural.

Cast with the plated top from the factory. I think clear coating it would look good and probably keep the original look.

..weren't they originally painted black?
..i prefer the raw cast look.

Clearing over bare metal won't work. The metal will still rust under the paint. Use RPM from ECS Automotive. Just heat the master with a heat gun, apply the RPM and let it cool. The master on my Challenger was coated over two years ago. No rust showing at all.

Another option: Eastwood makes a "raw metal" paint.

Paint it pastel pink if you want to man. Don't let your critical side of mind take over.
