What is the correct pickup for a Melling M-72HV going into an LA 360 with stock oil pan?

A stock pickup. Just make sure when you install the pick up that it LIGHTLY touches the bottom of the pan.

Do not adjust the pick up so it’s not on the floor of the pan.

So the Melling 72-S2 would work here?

I don't believe the type of pickup matters as long as it threads into the pump.
That being said, stock is designed to touch the pan as Turk mentioned. I used a Melling(not sure the #) and I put it about 3/16- 1/4" off the bottom.

Don't throw away the truck pickup, see if you can clean it up and throw it up here for sale. Pan too if you still have it and it's not damaged/crushed.
I know at least 1 guy on here (not me) who's been looking for a truck pan for a good while now (Macon GA area)
I have one in the attic but can't part with it because if something were to happen to the one on my truck now I'd be screwed without a spare.

What are the tell tale differences between a car and truck pan? Will double check to see what I have.
