Hi folks,

My name is Jon. Have been reading the board for a while and joined up a little while ago.
My other half and I are based in the UK and have just purchased our first American car, a '72 Dodge Demon that was imported from california.
We've had a lot of classic British tin over the last few years - mostly MG's Triumph and Jaguars and now it feels like it's time for something completely different.
After reading classic American for 3 years and much browsing of the interweb we've decided that we wanted to start with a mopar.

We're based in a little village just outside of Alfreton, in Derbyshire England and I'm very much looking forward to playing with our car next summer.

Anyway... that's enough waffle from me...
All the best,

Jon & Nicola.

Welcome from Colorado:coffee2: You will enjoy your Demon:finga:

Dave,

Welcome to FABO!! I'm sure your Demon gets a lot of attention!!

I was stationed at RAF Greenham Common (Berkshire) from 87-90. We lived in Compton Bassett. (Wiltshire) Really enjoyed my time there. Would love to move back!!

How do folks,

Today was the day we collected our A body.
Had an absolutely fantastic drive back. The traffic was as horrible as the weather but I still had a massive grin on my face. The car didn't miss a beat and it cruises so nicely.

She's a '72 model just arrived off the boat from California. I'm so pleased with it. I didn't know a 40 odd year old car could have a shell this solid?
The gent that imported the car happened to mention that he had purchased a stripe kit and offered to fit them for us. I'm glad we went for it as it's really brightened the back end up nicely and has helped to tie the white top in with the rest of the car IMHO?

I wasn't quite sure what to expect given that the only left hand drive vehicle I've ever driven was the future in-laws smart car but after 70 miles I could have been driving LHD cars all my life? It was awesome!

The car was originally registered 030GFF on blue and yellow plates when it lived in california, so if anyone out there happens to know of the car or used to own it I'd be very interested to hear from you?

I guess I'll just sign off the thread with a couple of pictures. 8-) Hopefully when the weather improves I can take some better ones! ;) The other car in dark is our daily driver '94 Daimler six. Although, I think they sold them as Jaguar Van den plas in America?

Cheers,

Jon & Nicola.

Hey y'all welcome from Mississippi. I was over there in 04 landed in London then took the train to Falmouth. Beautiful country side. Mind the gap. Lol

I'm Nicola, Jon's OH. :)

We've not had much chance to get the Demon out of the garage because the weather has been awful but here's a few more pics...

Here's it in the garage (fairly standard size for the UK!).

Welcome to the site, both of you.
How do you like the left hand drive?
How on earth do you get in and out of the car when it's in the garage?
Great looking car btw, the stripes really make it pop!

Thank you. :)

The left hand drive was a bit strange for the first go but is fine now, all part of the experience. :)

We just slide across the bench and get out on the right hand side in the garage, not easy to make out but there's a piece of carpet mounted to protect the door.

welcome!!!! very nice car!!!!

Thank you. :)
