I was debating the Cowl scoop too, but I stuck with a hemi scoop, just needed to order this taller version.

Aero trick, from Gale Banks Bonneville Studebaker, run an "airport tunnel" from winshield plenum to air exit at base of rear window. Helps more at 300 mph,but still helps a lower speeds. Cheers, ateam.
 
I say open it... When you are driving around and get caught in a rain storm or it is freezing cold outside you will want the windows up and some kind of air coming in to help prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.

Car will not be driven in the winter. I am thinking that if the lack of a defroster/heater becomes much of an issue I am thinking I could mount one of these if need be. A friend had one in his Jeep and said it worked well......

I'm going to have the same problem. I'm going to mount a good size power converter in the car for aux use and put plugs in the console and a few more around the car. Ill just plug a Lil house heater in and make a bracket "Quick release type" to hold it during the season. Converters are inexpensive and so are the Lil house heaters.

As far as outside air goes. Ill open the wing windows.

I have that heater in my Demon, nice for cruising on a cool evening. Takes up way less space then the old factory heater. I have it tied into my dash vents and it has one more vent still going to floor. My mailboxes are removed and holes sealed.

That's a good idea too.. doesnt it use the heater hoses off the motor? If someone didn't weld up the holes on the firewall too...like me :banghead:
 
I did this to a B body.Used a A body rear window defroster blower motor mounted under the dash and ran OE defroster tubes to the dash vents. Helped with windshield moisture inside on humid days. Just a thought.

Just wondering what you did to control the blower? Use the factory stuff or just a toggle??

Mine were welded shut as well. Just have to drill a couple of new ones.

Thanks for the idea. So you just used the blower with no warm water? Years ago I had bypassed a leaky heater core in my truck and drove thru the winter with just the blower motor. As long as I kept the glass free from that slime that seems to grow on it it worked ok. I was in NJ so it was a bit cold that way. But this thing will never be driven during the winter, so I do not think I will really need any heat, just a way to keep the fog off of the glass....I used to use RainX on the inside of the face shield on my bike helmet, worked well at keeping it fog free. Wonder if it would work on the car?

I smoothed mine over too,,doh. Later decided I wanted heat and redrilled.

My dash was smoothed over when I did rest of body work. Heater comes with rotary switch. drilled a hole and mounted it.

What I did when I sealed mine up was mount 2 small fans from computers under the dash vents. I wired to the factory fan switch and they blow pretty good on the windshield.

Only pic I could find, its not very good. I just bolted to fire wall, if I had some forethought I would have added a bracket up under dash to bolt it too. The way I have it in there leaves the bottom vent for feet, the one above it goes to one side of dash, and another outlet you cant see goes to otherside of dash. This is with the extra cost plenum for the heater. Also you need longer then usual hose this way cause the coolant inlet/outlet faces towards passenger side of car. I fiddled around for hrs trying for the best position with simple bolting to firewall, best I could figure out. Between the gauge insert and the stereo you can barely make out the heater switch.
