I have a set of new Crane 99278 anti-pump lifters for an LA small block. Decided to go with a solid cam. These were installed in the short block but removed before engine was installed or fired. $75.00 shipped in the lower 48.

I have never heard of these. Are they better than just regular lifters? As as not failing?

They are designed to prevent valve float and to allow an engine to spin higher RPM much like a solid lifter. They must be adjusted so that there JUST IS zero lash (no preload) OR up to about .002" lash like a solid, so you need an adjustable valve train for them. But they are some of the best hydraulic lifters made. They work very well.
