Cross Shaft Dust Seal Removal

Need to change out the oil seal on my 1972 Scamp steering gear cross shaft. Anyone know how to remove the dust seal?

Yes, unfortunately not able to locate the tool.

I use a long pick and gently pry around it and loosen it up.

Ok, so by using that method I should be able to reuse it as long as I don’t damage it beyond be able to it seats properly.

Correct. You might take a file or a bench grinder and dull the sharp end of the pick some if you're not real confident you can do it without puncturing the seal. I have a dull one I leave dull just for purposes like this. lol

I am changing the seal, it is leaking.
